QUILCENE — Travelers on U.S. Highway 101 north of Quilcene in Jefferson County will want to plan extra time for their trips during the next four months.
Beginning Friday, travelers found around-the-clock, one-way alternating traffic controlled by a signal on U.S. Highway 101 about 5 miles north of Quilcene at Leland Creek.
Contractor crews working for the state Department of Transportation shift traffic onto a bypass around the construction zone that will allow crews to begin removing culverts under the roadway that cause barriers to native fish.
