PORT ANGELES — A segment of the street serving Port Angeles High School and Olympic National Park headquarters from the east will be closed Thursday morning to accommodate a tree felling.
Park Avenue between Race Street and an alignment with Eunice Avenue above the Mount Angeles housing projects will be closed to through traffic between 8 a.m. and noon to allow crews to remove a tree that’s in danger of falling on electrical transmission lines, city officials said.
The high school and park headquarters will be cut off from Race Street during that time, which is a change from an earlier announced closure day.
Because Eunice is not a through street to Park Avenue, Peabody and Lincoln streets are alternate routes to both the school and park headquarters from the north.
Further information on the tree removal is available by phoning Jim Klarr, city light operations manager, at 360-417-4731.
