SEQUIM – The last Music in the Park concert in Sequim will feature the Stardust big band on Tuesday.
Stardust will play hits from the ’30s-’40s and ’50s from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the James Center bandstand in the Water Reuse Demonstration Park, just north of Carrie Blake Park, 202 N. Blake Ave.
Well-known across the Peninsula, Stardust includes 17 musicians and vocalists. Some of the members also perform with the Sequim City Band and other groups.
Among its musicians are five saxophone players, four trombones. four trumpets plus a pianist, guitarist and a drummer.
This is an all-ages, family concert – and it is free.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on – plus a picnic basket, or grab some food at a downtown store or restaurant and bring it to the concert.
This year’s Music in the Park series began June 26 and has been sponsored by the city of Sequim; Peninsula Daily News and its weekly newspaper, Sequim This Week; and other businesses.
