HOODSPORT — Olympic National Park has announced that road repairs on Staircase Road will begin today and might last for up to eight weeks.
According to a press release, the road should be open by May 24 in time for the Memorial Day weekend.
The $1.3 million project includes pavement rehabilitation, culvert replacement, paving of the overflow parking area, chip sealing of the campground, striping, sign replacement and conduit installation.
The road will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the park boundary until all work is completed.
The work will be performed by Conway Construction Company Inc. of Vancouver, Wash.
