SEQUIM — St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Sequim recently donated $2,500 to the Sequim Food Bank.
The Rev. Diane Moore said, “St. Luke’s is committed to serving the hungry in the Sequim community.”
According to a press release, the donation matches what the church would have spent to continue its weekly “Soup’s On” program for 10 weeks.
The program, which has been shut down since March due to Gov. Jay Inslee’s Stay Home order, provided, on average, 125 bowls of soup, rolls, salad and cookies every Wednesday since it started in 2017.
