PORT ANGELES — The city Planning Commission has extended a permit to allow sprint-boat racing — in which small racing boats speed around a winding track filled with shallow water — to continue.
The vote before a large crowd of sprint-boat supporters at City Hall approved an extension of the permit to allow use of the Extreme Sports Park off Edgewood Drive near the western city limit to continue for five years.
Two weekends of racing are planned for next summer.
