The lone candidates who filed for positions on the two conservation districts on the North Olympic Peninsula were tapped to serve on the boards.
Incumbent Joseph Murray keeps his seat on the Clallam Conservation District board of supervisors without an election.
He was the only candidate to file for the office. State conservation district elections rules say that if the incumbent is the only eligible candidate to file for the position, no election is required.
Polling, which had been scheduled for Thursday, therefore will not be performed.
Mike McFadden was elected March 6 to the Jefferson County Conservation District board of supervisors.
McFadden, who has been an associate supervisor, fills the position vacated by John Boulton, a Quilcene farmer who retired from the conservation district board after serving as supervisor for 58 years.
The Clallam Conservation District is accepting applications for an appointed position now held by Nash Huber that expires this year.
The deadline for applications to the appointed position is March 29.
The application form and instructions can be found at www.clallamcd.org or www.scc.wa.gov.
Clallam conservation district supervisors approved a five-year plan for natural resource conservation at their Feb. 12 meeting.
