OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — For the first time this year, the Hurricane Ridge Ski and Snowboard Area was open for business Monday.
Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club President Lori Lynn Gray said there was enough snow at the Ridge to safely operate the two rope tows.
More snow is needed for the Poma lift to open.
The ski area and the Hurricane Ridge Ski and Snowboard School will operate Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Gray said.
Gray said Hurricane Ridge Road was in good condition Monday.
Olympic National Park reported 12 degrees at the Ridge, with 58 inches at the snow sensor.
Weather permitting, Hurricane Ridge Road is open daily from 9 a.m. to dusk.
