PORT ANGELES – The ski bus to Hurricane Ridge will resume running Saturday – provided it can get there from here.
Jerry Eldred, transportation director for the Port Angeles School District, said Monday that seven school bus drivers – four from Port Angeles, three from Sequim – had volunteered to drive to the Ridge in Olympic National Park from the Vern Burton Center parking lot on Peabody Street between Fourth and Fifth streets.
The bus will make two trips to Hurricane Ridge each Saturday and Sunday – one leaving at 9 a.m., the second at 11:30 a.m., and one trip back to Port Angeles at 4:15 p.m.
The schedule is dependent on the weather.
“Obviously we can sell only as many trips up as we can bring down in one bus,” said Lori-Lynn Gray, director of the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club Ski and Snowboard School.
