Sequim School Board members said Tuesday night that more information and time are needed before considering another maintenance and operations tax levy election this year.
A proposed two-year, $5.44 levy fell 2.3 percent short of passage in election certification last week. The Sequim School District covers much of eastern Clallam County and Gardiner in Jefferson County.
The board, which met Tuesday night, said it plans more discussion later on when to place the measure on the ballot and how much to ask of taxpayers.
School districts use maintenance and operations levies to supplement state funding.
