Sequim Guild to hold 3rd annual Christmas in July sale

CARLSBORG — The Sequim Guild will host its third annual Garage, Plant and Christmas in July Sale this week.

Members have been decluttering their closets, cupboards and attics to prepare for the sale, scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through next Sunday at 81 Timothy Lane off Old Olympic Highway between Cays and Heath roads.

“This might be the garage sale to end all garage sales,” said Carol Labbe, president of the guild, which works to benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital.

“Our guild has over 100 members, so you can only imagine what happens when they start their spring cleaning in anticipation of this annual event,” Labbe said.

In addition to a Christmas in July cottage and a plant sale, guild members plan a craft corner and a table full of new picture frames, as well as furniture, artwork, items for the bedroom and bathroom, toys, games, books, movies, clothes, hats, purses, luggage, sporting goods, baby items, a large selection of kitchen items and a department just for men.

Proceeds from the sale will go toward providing uncompensated care to children who are patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

“These days, children receive the benefit of Medicaid, and many families have insurance for their children,” Labbe said.

“Even so, there are medical costs associated with children’s care that remain even after Medicaid and insurance pay their portions.

“Last year, the hospital provided over $103 million in uncompensated care — $841,000 to children from Clallam County alone.”
