SEQUIM — Trina Berg made her resignation from the City Council official Wednesday, even though she was unable to attend a work session because of illness.
Berg confirmed her decision to resign two weeks ago in a story in the Peninsula Daily News, but hadn’t made her announcement official.
Her resignation is effective at the end of this month.
Berg was first elected to the council in 1995 after residents approved changing the city’s form of government from the strong mayor to the city manager-council form of government.
She and Councilman Bill Thomas, who last week announced he would resign at the end of the month, are the last two remaining council members from the slate elected in 1995.
