SEQUIM — Tired of that rusted-out car on your neighbor’s lawn? So is the Sequim City Council.
Such things as junk cars, overgrown vegetation and derelict buildings and other unsightly accumulations are the target of a revised nuisance abatement ordinance approved by the City Council Monday night.
The ordinance, which includes possible criminal prosecution as a last resort if offenders don’t remove trash, was crafted by Police Chief Byron Nelson and City Attorney Craig Ritchie.
