There will be two commemorations of the four-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks today.
In Port Angeles, a Sept. 11 observance and public safety tribute will be held from noon to 12:30 p.m. at the Francis Street Waterfront Park and Public Safety Monument.
The ceremony will begin with the raising of the American flag by the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department color guard.
It will feature speeches from Clallam County Sheriff Joe Martin, Port Angeles Police Chief Tom Riepe and Fire Chief Dan McKeen.
In Port Townsend, the 60-minute ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. at the Port Townsend Bell Tower, at the corner of Jefferson and Tyler streets.
The event will include speeches and a moment of silence requested by Pastor Karl Braden.
