GARDINER — Coast Guard Group Port Angeles assisted a 41-foot sailboat that ran ago aground Sunday in Discovery Bay.
The captain of the vessel, whom the Coast Guard did not identify Sunday night, reported the grounding at 4:40 p.m., about a half-mile north of the Oyster House restaurant off U.S. Highway 101.
Mike Allen, Coast Guard Civilian employee and search and rescue patroller, said four passengers aboard the vessel were immediately taken to shore by a Security Services vessel in the vicinity. No injuries were reported, Allen said.
The double-masted sailboat ran aground near low tide, Allen said.
