PORT TOWNSEND — FairVote Washington, a nonprofit group promoting ranked-choice voting, will provide the featured program at the Thursday meeting of the Jefferson County Democrats.
The Zoom meeting, open to the public, is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
As the meeting date approaches, Jefferson County Democrats will provide Zoom access information on its website at jeffcodemocrats.com.
During the presentation, FairVoteWA speakers will describe ranked-choice voting and lead a practice ranked-choice voting election.
They’ll discuss some problems with the current voting system and the benefits of ranked-choice voting.
FairVoteWA volunteers also will discuss HB 1156, which would allow local jurisdictions to use ranked-choice voting if they choose.
