Preliminary designs for Port Townsend restaurant fits with Point Hudson future, owners say

PORT TOWNSEND — The Landfall Restaurant’s owners unveiled a preliminary conceptual design for the restaurant they believe would be a good fit with Point Hudson-area structures and the new Northwest Maritime Center.

Port of Port Townsend commissioners told owners Tony and Betty Harriman and architect Richard Berg that they were impressed with the initial exterior design concept for the restaurant.

“I think this is a really exciting design,” said Port Commissioner Bob Sokol.

The commissioners then went on to approve the concept, which would turn the 7,000-square-foot building’s front door toward Water Street.

“Our intent was to make the new Landfall meld with the Swan Hotel with a common streetscape,” Tony Harriman told the commissioners.

He said the goal was to develop a “destination restaurant.”

Although the two-story building’s interior is yet to be fully designed, Tony Harriman said it would include an elevator, as required for accessibility.
