Port Townsend: Housing Authority to meet

The Housing Authority of Jefferson County will hold a special workshop on Friday at 1 p.m. on organizational review and capacity building.

Representatives from the nonprofit group Common Ground will meet with members of the Housing Authority on development of several low-income housing projects under discussion.

One plan includes building 20 duplexes, five houses and a community center near the intersection of 35th and Hastings streets in Port Townsend.

The vacant six-acre tract was previously designated for a park. The plan has drawn opposition from members of the Dundee Hill Neighborhood Association and others.

The meeting will take place on at the Housing Authority’s office at 5210 Kuhn St., Port Townsend.
