PORT ANGELES — StreamFest, which has been held midsummer by the North Olympic Land Trust since 1999, will end after the July 31 event at Ennis Arbor Farm, the land trust announced today.
StreamFest planners Jim and Robbie Mantooth, retired Port Angeles residents who own Ennis Arbor Farm near the Peninsula Golf Course, have decided to focus on their other responsibilities as land trust board members after this year’s event, the organization said in a news release.
“We’ve both been retired from our professional lives for more than a decade, so it’s time for us to spend more time on other activities,” said Robbie Mantooth, a retired journalist and Peninsula College journalism professor.
“We feel very privileged to live in this place of great beauty, healthful environment, productive agricultural land and rich cultural heritage. So, we want to continue doing everything we can through our work with others on the land trust’s board of directors and other activities to make sure qualities important to our way of life and economy are protected for current and future generations.”
The July 31 StreamFest, free to the public, will begin at 1 p.m. at Ennis Arbor Farm, the entrance to which is down a forested trail across from Peninsula Golf Club, 824 Lindberg Road. Free shuttle service will be available at the east end of the Plaza Shopping Center between noon and 2 p.m., and again between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
