PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School District’s board of directors has added another day to its deliberation over selecting a new superintendent.
After it could not reach a consensus at its special meeting Saturday, the board agreed to advance two of the three finalists, a district representative said.
The board will hold a closed special meeting from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, followed by an open session, at which it will vote for the district’s next superintendent, who will replace Marty Brewer.
Brewer will stay on until his contract ends Aug. 31.
The board conducted in-person interviews with three finalists on last Thursday and Friday. The original plan was to choose the new superintendent on Saturday and begin contract negotiations today.
The name of the new superintendent will not be made public until a later date; the names of all of the candidates have been confidential throughout the hiring process, according to school district policy.
Information about the superintendent search can be found on the district’s website at tinyurl.com/2dpb685b.
