PORT ANGELES — Port of Port Angeles commissioners voted 2-1 Monday to let Cascade General out of its lease on a 6,000-square-foot warehouse at 820 Marine Drive.
The move leaves Washington Marine Repair as the only company in Port Angeles specializing in topside repair of tankers and other large ships.
Washington Marine is owned by Shipyard America LLC, which is also the parent company of Portland-based Cascade General.
Cascade had leased the warehouse from the Port since September 1999.
The lease contract provided for a 90-day written notice of cancellation before termination.
An Aug. 7 letter from Cascade General Project Manager Dave Byers requested the lease cancellation effective Sept. 30.
