PORT ANGELES — Facing several major projects, Port commissioners are leaning toward keeping Clyde Boddy as the Port’s executive director through the end of 2003.
“The general feeling is that, with all the things going on, the graving yard and a couple others, we just might extend his contract,” said Glenn Beckman, the Port commission’s president.
The other two Port commissioners — Leonard Beil and Bill Hannan — also said in interviews Friday that given all the Port’s slate of projects, they are inclined to keep Boddy as executive director.
Boddy, who is paid $90,000 a year not including his $47,000 state pension, said the commissioners have brought up the subject with him.
But he refused to comment on those discussions and referred all questions to the commissioners.
Beckman said he might put the subject on the June 9 Port commissioners’ meeting agenda.
