PORT ANGELES — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man suspected of child endangerment and domestic violence.

Chad A. Westenhaver, 34, a Clallam County resident, is being sought for investigation of reckless endangerment of a child and malicious mischief-domestic violence, said Sgt. Jason Viada of the Port Angeles Police Department.

At about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of West 16th Street, Viada said.

Callers told police that Westenhaver and the mother of a child were involved in the disturbance in which the father broke the windshield of the mother’s car, Viada said.

Westenhaver, with the child in the vehicle, left in a blue 1993 Toyota pickup truck, Washington license B66073P, according to police.

He was driving erratically and there was no car seat for the child, Viada said.

Viada said he did not know the whereabouts of the child as of Thursday afternoon.

Anyone with information about Westenhaver’s location is asked to call 9-1-1.
