PORT ANGELES — Clallam County and city officials on Thursday exchanged revenue sharing proposals which could lead to the extension of city sewer service along the U.S. Highway 101 commercial corridor east of the city.
“The way that I would look at it is it would allow the area to develop commercially so both governments could benefit no matter what government agency” controls it, said county Commissioner Mike Chapman, R-Port Angeles.
Chapman and county Administrator Dan Engelbertson met briefly Thursday afternoon with City Councilman Richard Headrick and City Manager Mike Quinn to discuss the two proposals and take them back to their respective public bodies for review.
Chapman said he, Engelbertson, Headrick and Quinn would meet again during the first week of January, to further discuss their positions.
