Port Angeles marketer, graphic designer retools her business’ brand

PORT ANGELES — A noted North Olympic Peninsula marketer and graphic designer has rebranded her business to reflect changes in the marketplace, the technical realm and in the business itself.

Laurel Black Design began the transformation with a new logo — depicting a laurel leaf on a black field to represent owner Laurel Black — as well as a new tagline: “Creative Smarts at Work.”

“We embarked last September on a quest to rebrand the firm to better reflect Laurel Black Design’s true market positioning and what we have to offer,” said Black.

Her portfolio includes numerous national accolades in the more than 30 years she has operated her business on the Peninsula.

“The new brand image visually reinforces the name components in a distinctive and relevant manner,” she said, “and the new tagline is intended to express succinctly the nature of our services and the personality of its founder.”

Port Angeles-based Laurel Black Design, or LBD, has evolved from a primary focus on graphic design to a more encompassing enterprise, offering broader communications and marketing services enhanced by a support team of creative associates to extend LBD’s in-house capabilities, Black said.

Services include analysis and evaluation of current marketing materials, website usability, branding, content and content planning, logo design, Web and print design, advertising, project management, illustration and copywriting, she said.

“The shift in LBD’s position has come about because of increased demand from clients for these services,” Black said.

“This increase has occurred not only in the regional home market, but from contacts developed online.”

Laurel Black Design also launched a redesigned website at www.laurelblack.com.

In addition to the website, Black can be reached by phoning 360-457-0217 or 360-460-1834, or by emailing laurel@laurelblack.com.
