PORT ANGELES — The Washington State Patrol is investigating the death of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 101 near Lake Sutherland at 4:56 p.m. Thursday.
Communications officer Mariah Ware reported that the pedestrian, identified as Louis T. Roszatycki, 70, of Port Angeles was hit while crossing the roadway from south to north.
Roszatycki was hit by a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Alyssa T. Greene, 26, of Neah Bay.
Three passengers in the vehicle were not injured.
Ware said that Roszatycki was deceased at the scene and the next of kin were notified.
Drugs or alcohol use are not suspected in the incident.
