PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign after police say he drove through the intersection of 12th and Peabody streets Tuesday afternoon and hit a van.
Xinghuang Guo, 22, of Port Angeles was headed east in a Kia Spectra sedan on 12th Street just before 3:30 p.m. when witnesses say he did not stop for a stop sign at the intersection with Peabody Street, Port Angeles Officer Brian Stamon said.
Guo struck the passenger side of a Chevrolet Astro van heading south on Peabody Street being driven by Toni Thompson, 59, of Port Angeles, Stamon said.
The impact flipped the van onto its driver side, he said.
Thompson suffered a hand laceration and was treated and released at the scene by medics, Stamon said.
Neither Guo nor his two passengers were injured, Stamon said.
Guo was issued an infraction for failing to stop at a stop sign, Stamon said.
Both the sedan and the van were towed from the scene, he said.
