PORT ANGELES — Family Planning of Clallam County has received three grants totaling $10,500.
A $5,000 grant from the Seattle-based Horizons Foundation will allow the agency to keep Robert Thomas, the male health educator for Family Planning of Clallam County.
Thomas provides educational services throughout the county, including the Juvenile Detention Facility, local schools, treatment centers and community events.
Thomas provides consistent, medically accurate information about high-risk behavior and consequences, said Cherie Reeves Sperr, assistant director of Family Planning of Clallam County.
He also educates children about decision-making, resiliency, assertiveness, self-esteem, birth control methods and sexually transmitted diseases.
The second grant is from the Sequim-based Albert Haller Foundation.
