PORT ANGELES — More than four years after vehicle weight limits were imposed and two years after the first public outreach meetings were held, the city has put the Eighth Street bridges’ replacement project out to bid.
Contractors have until 2 p.m. Feb. 10 to submit their proposal and price tag for replacing the two wooden trestle bridges across Valley and Tumwater creeks.
The contract requires installing utilities, drainage, sidewalks, landscaping, wetland mitigation and irrigation.
The bid request also includes excavation and embankment construction, street lighting, pedestrian lighting and railing, traffic control and traffic signals.
