Port Angeles: Council approves downtown parking plan

PORT ANGELES — The City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a recommended solution to future downtown parking woes, clearing the way for an $11.5 million transit center project.

The comprehensive plan, which includes parking below the future Gateway International Transportation Center, addresses downtown parking that will be lost when the center is built.

“It’s wonderful,” Port Angeles Downtown Association Executive Director Arla Holzschuh said after the council made its decision.
