Law enforcement agencies Peninsula-wide will be on the hunt for traffic violations this Labor Day Weekend.
Every available State Patrol trooper in Clallam and Jefferson counties will be working this weekend, Trooper Glen Tyrrell said.
City, county and state agencies will work in cooperation to watch for traffic violators.
Agencies will use marked and unmarked vehicles to watch for drivers impaired by alcohol and those exceeding the posted speed limit, Trooper Willie Boxhoorn said.
During last year’s Labor Day weekend, the Patrol made 183 DUI arrests, 2,870 speed citations, 697 seat belt citations, 70 child restraint citations and 2,581 motorist assists, Boxhoorn said.
Tyrrell said drivers should leave with plenty of time to reach their destinations, wear seat belts and drive friendly.
