Here’s a list of Halloween events, by community:
Port Angeles
* A haunted house is open at the Clallam County Fairgrounds, 1608 W. 16th St., tonight through Tuesday night.
Hours will be from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. tonight and Saturday; from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday; and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
On Sunday, rooms will be fully lighted from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with time set especially for special needs children from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The event, sponsored by the Rainbow and DeMolay groups, costs $2 at the door with an additional $1 charged for every other walk-through. Refreshments will be for sale.
* Adults can play dress-up at a costume party at the Naval Elks Lounge, 131 E. First St., from 7 p.m. tonight until closing.
The $5 per person admission fee will benefit the Elks Children’s Therapy program.
* A special Halloween film, “Nightwatch,” by Timur Bekmambetov, is planned at 7 p.m. tonight at the Peninsula College Little Theater, 1502 E. Boulevard.
Admission to the Russian baroque fantasy thriller is $5 or $1 for current PC students $1.

* On Saturday, the Port Angeles Farmers Market Fall Festival, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature a Halloween costume parade, pumpkin bowling, champion pumpkin contest, live music with Kim and Jason and a lunch of harvest soup.
It will be in the Clallam County Courthouse parking lot, Fourth and Peabody streets.
The weekly market offers seasonal produce, coffee, arts and crafts, gifts.

* On Sunday, the Dry Creek Grange, 3520 W. Edgewood Drive, will host a Halloween celebration between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
A costume party, games, treats and a paper pumpkin decorating contest are planned.
Hot dogs, chips and apple cider will be served.
The party is open to the public.

* On Tuesday, children can trick-or-treat at various downtown businesses from 2 p.m. until closing Tuesday.
Free photos will be taken by the Conrad Dyar Memorial Fountain at the southern end of Laurel Street.
Sequim-Dungeness Valley
* The Pumpkin Patch, on Kitchen Dick Road just off of Highway 101, is open from noon to 9 p.m. today and Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday.
A 1½-mile corn maze costs $5 for children up to 15 and $10 for people 16 and older.
A smaller straw maze is available for young children at $3 per each child, with parents admitted free.
Pumpkins can be chosen and taken home for 25 cents per pound.
Wagon rides are $4 for adults and $2 for children.
Horseback rides for children are $3.
The pumpkin shoot, in which attempts can be made to shoot pumpkins into a bin, is $5 for three tries.
* At noon on Saturday, just outside the gates of the Pumpkin Patch, car enthusiasts will line up for the annual “Orange Crush” Cruise-In and Car Show and Cruise to Sequim.
All car owners — especially those with vintage and classic cars — are invited to participate.
The Cruise to Sequim through the Dungeness Valley begins at 1:30 p.m., ending at Hope Stime’s Park Place at the corner of West Washington Street and North Third Avenue where roasted marshmallows and hotdogs will be served.
* On Saturday, a couple of costume parties for pets are planned.
Best Friend Nutrition, 61 Valley Center Place, will have its party from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..
Shoppers will receive a discount for bringing a pet in costume.
The pet costume party at PetCo, off River Road near Home Depot, will begin at 2 p.m.
* Seven Cedars Casino, 270756 Highway 101, will host its annual costume party on Saturday.
Cash prizes will be given away for best couples and individual costumes. Live music by Seattle band Rock Candy will begin at 9 p.m.
Costume judging will be at 11 p.m.
Admission is free of charge.
* Children in fifth grade and under are invited to the free Haunted Hallways of Sequim High School, 601 N. Sequim Ave., from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The event is in H building, close to the soccer field. Costumes are encouraged.
* Also on Saturday will be a Mexican Day of the Dead celebration beginning with a silent auction at 5:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall, 73 Howe Road, off N. Barr Road.
A dinner with the traditional foods of Chiapas state, Mexico, will begin at 6 p.m., to be followed by a short film, and traditional altar building.
A donation of $10 is asked. Proceeds will go toward the Sequim-based Mujeres de Maiz Opportunity Foundation, which provides education opportunities for indigent women in Chiapas.
* On Sunday, a Halloween movie, pizza and a corn maze is offered to teens from the ages of 14 to 19 free at the Sequim Boys and Girls Club, 400 West Fir St., from 5 p.m. to no later than 10 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Sequim Boys and Girls Club and a Drug Free Communities grant.

* On Tuesday, children can head to downtown Sequim where merchants with pumpkins in storefronts will welcome them from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
* On Tuesday, the Sequim Valley Lions Club will hand out bags of apples donated by local farms, candy donated by local merchants and McDonald’s coupons beginning at 4:30 p.m.
It will be behind Sequim McDonald’s restaurant, 107 S. Seventh Ave.
* Also on Tuesday, the Kings Way Church, 1023 Kitchen Dick Road, will have its Pumpkin Patch Bash.
Games, prizes, rides, candy, maze and a food concession are planned from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The public is welcome, but only “friendly” costumes are requested.
* Another church is offering a safe place for youngsters on Halloween.
Decorated cars with Halloween treats displayed in the trunks will be at the parking lot at Eastern Hills Community Church, 81 Savannah Lane, across from Carlsborg Post Office.
Free hot dogs and cider, live music, a bounce house and hay rides will be offered.

* The Hallow-ed Eve Harvest Festival at Faith Lutheran Church, 382 W. Cedar St., will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

* The Sequim Community Church, 950 N. Fifth Ave., will present “A Walk through the Wilderness from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Olympic Bible Fellowship’s Awana Harvest Party at Sequim Assembly of God, 640 N. Sequim Ave., is planned from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
A chili cook-off, pumpkin carving contest and other events are offered.

Port Townsend and Jefferson County
* Freedivers and certified scuba divers are invited to a free underwater pumpkin carving contest on Saturday.
The contest will be at the NW Maritime Dock.
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. Divers will be in the water by 10:30 a.m.
Divers must provide their own uncut pumpkins.
Entries will be judged by youngsters at the event.
Prizes will be awarded.
An underwater video feed will be furnished for observers by Townsend Bay Drive.

* A potluck and public participation reading of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” will begin at noon on at the Paradise Theatre School on Sunday.
The school and Olympic Shakespeare Productions are hosting the event.
Participants will read from until 1:30 p.m., break for a potluck lunch until 2 p.m., then continue reading until “Macbeth” is finished.
The groups recommend a donation of $5. Donations benefit both organizations. No reservations are needed.
The school is in the country chapel with the red roof at 161 Center Road in Chimacum, just south of the Beaver Valley and Center crossroads.

* The 12th annual Port Townsend Main Street Downtown Trick or Treat and Costume Parade will begin at 4 p.m.
The event is open to costumed youngsters, preschool through sixth grade, and their parents.
Participants are to meet at 3:45 p.m. under the Bank of America clock at Water and Adams streets.
Participating merchants — designated by signs in their windows — will offer trick or treating opportunities after the parade.
Water Street will be closed to traffic 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Madison to Polk streets.
Flashlights and visible clothing are recommended.

West End
* On Saturday, a Halloween party is planned for children from one year old to 12 years old in Forks.
The Sunshine & Rainbows Child Development Center party will offer carnival games, a balloon dart board, a fish pond, beanbag toss and prizes.
The party at the center, 945 S. Forks Ave. is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

* The Clallam Bay/Sekiu Lions Club plans a Halloween party from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The party, for children ages 3 to 10 years old, will be at the Old Fire Hall, 6th and Bogachiel streets, in Clallam Bay.
Children will be treated to a costume contest, games, and treats as well as hot dogs, chips and soda.
* Forks True Value is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Halloween by serving coffee, cake and cookies from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Halloween.
Those who attend get a chance to win a prize.
* Forks Library plans a Halloween storytime at noon on Tuesday.
Children who are 3, 4 and 5 years old are invited.
The event will include stories, crafts and music.
