PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center’s radiation oncology center in Sequim is allowing patients with the disease to be treated without leaving the North Olympic Peninsula.
A new state of the art linear accelerator plays a major role in that treatment, Dr. Heath Foxlee told the Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce’s weekly luncheon at the Port Angeles CrabHouse Restaurant on Monday.
Foxlee leads the medical staff at the new cancer center, which opened earlier this year at 844 N. Fifth Ave.
The move to the new center began a few years ago, when Olympic Medical Center officials conducted meetings with residents and doctors to find out how to serve the community better, Foxlee said.
