OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — DNC Parks & Resorts at Kalaloch Inc. will be awarded a new 10-year concession contract to operate overnight accommodations, food and beverage, retail, fuel and firewood sales, all located within the Kalaloch area of Olympic National Park.
DNC Parks & Resorts at Kalaloch Inc. is a subsidiary of the New York-based Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts Inc. and has more than 70 years of hospitality experience in a variety of venues, including operating concessions within national parks, such as the Grand Canyon, Sequoia, Yellowstone and Yosemite.
As required by the 1998 Concessions Management Improvement Act, the park service solicited for proposals last year for the commercial services provided at Kalaloch within the park.
Evaluations
Offers were evaluated on their responses to questions asked, including how to collaborate with the federally recognized tribes of the Olympic Peninsula on educating the visiting public through development of interpretive programs and promoting employment opportunities.
Additional guidelines used to evaluate proposals can be found online at www.nps.gov/commercialservices.
