The North Olympic Peninsula has its own air-quality specialist in a Port Angeles office that will hold an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. today.
Rita Cirulis will staff the Olympic Regional Clean Air Agency bureau at 116 W. Eighth St., Suite 113.
Until the office opened recently, specialists had to travel to the Peninsula from their Olympia headquarters to investigate air quality issues, said Dan Nelson, ORCAA spokesman, or rely on local fire protection agencies.
Now people in Clallam and Jefferson counties with complaints or questions can call Cirulis at 360-417-1466. She also can be reached by fax at 360-417-1467 or by e-mail at rita@orcaa.org.
