Skiers and snowboarders heading to Hurricane Ridge this winter may find it easier to get to the outdoor recreation area.
Hurricane Ridge Public Development Authority Director Stephen Oliver told Port Angeles Business Association members Tuesday morning that improved and expanded bus service is being planned, as are other changes.
Skiers should find Ridge travel more convenient thanks to the acquisition of three 27-passenger shuttle buses from Clallam Transit System, he said.
Two of the propane-powered buses will see service this year on the Hurricane Ridge run, he said. They will join the regularly scheduled snow bus on the 17-mile trip.
The third shuttle bus be on standby.
The shuttle service will allow the snow bus to be used primarily for ski school students, Oliver said.
Park entrance fees will be waived for paying shuttle passengers, he said, noting a round-trip will cost $5 — the same price as the snow bus.
