People can visit Olympic National Park and other national parks for free today.
The $15-per-vehicle entrance fees were waived for Saturday and today as part of President George Bush’s Healthier U.S. Initiative, announced June 12.
The National Park Service’s director, Fran Mainella, said national parks offer opportunities for activities that improve health and reduce stress.
It is “a wonderful opportunity for our visitors to experience national parks and exercise their minds and bodies while uplifting their spirits,” Mainella said.
Only entrance fees are waived. Overnight camping and other fees are unchanged.
