A business development consultant has been named executive director of the new Clallam Business Incubator.
The incubator’s board of directors unanimously selected John Herschelman as the top administrator for the still-to-be completed facility, which will nurture small businesses.
“We are very pleased and excited to bring John on board as the first executive director,” business incubator president Bill Peach said in a statement Friday.
“He brings extensive business consulting background and a strong passion for success.”
Herschelman now operates the Ocean Shores-based consulting firm Decisions & Development Inc., with clients ranging from loggers to an alternative energy company.
He has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia and a bachelor’s degree in forestry management from North Carolina State University.
He will be moving to Port Angeles from Ocean Shores, said Peach, a forestry executive with Rayonier Inc.
Herschelman was selected from a pool of applicants drawn from across the United States and Canada.
The interview process included a nationwide advertisement, preliminary review, narrowing of applications to three, followed by interviews and site visits.
