PORT ANGELES — Wine and books will be paired at a tasting at Camaraderie Cellars winery Thursday.
The event, co-hosted by Camaraderie and the North Olympic Library System, will be at 6 p.m. at the winery at 334 Benson Road in Port Angeles. A valid photo ID must be presented upon entry.
The tasting is free, though space is limited. Registration is required.
Parking is limited, and ride-sharing is encouraged.
At each tasting station, participants will sample one of Camaraderie’s artisan Northwest wines and one book.
Each book has been paired with each wine, matched in tone and intensity to red, white and rose wines, organizers say.
The books will range from classics to sci-fi to literary fiction.
Participants will learn about six books and sample six libations throughout the evening.

Sequim leak repair
SEQUIM — Lanes will be narrowed on East Washington Street today as the city fixes a small water leak, officials said.
The work will be done between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the north side of East Washington Street between Sequim and Sunnyside avenues.
No water shutoffs are anticipated and no lanes will be closed, officials said.
The sidewalk will be open but will be reduced to a 3-foot passage.

School lunch prices
PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School Board will consider raising the price of school lunches by 10 cents when it meets Thursday.
The board will meet in regular session at 7 p.m., preceded by an executive session at 6 p.m., at the Central Services Building, 216 E. Fourth St.
The board also will review a change in the policy for audience participation, raising the limit to comments from 10 minutes to 15.
It also will review a proposed suicide prevention policy, a policy for academic acceleration and slight changes in the policy for transgender students.
Sequim shop hosts grand opening today
SEQUIM — Owners Kristy and Elmer Grasser of Birds of a Feather, 825 W. Washington St., will hold its grand opening celebration today.
The store sells handcrafted soaps, gifts and soap making and apothecary supplies.
In addition, it offers “Let’s Make Something” craft classes at 6 p.m. Thursdays.
Preregistration is required.
Birds of a Feather is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays.
