QUILCENE — Snow Creek Road will be closed for culvert repair just outside the Olympic National Forest boundary beginning Monday.
The closure between mileposts 3.74 and 3.82 is expected to continue until Sept. 5.
The Jefferson County Department of Public Works will temporarily close the stretch of road to work on the culvert over Andrews Creek.
Snow Creek Road is used by visitors to reach the Snow Creek Trailhead in Olympic National Forest.
During the road closure, the trailhead will not be accessible from U.S. Highway 101 via Snow Creek Road.
Visitors can access the trailhead by taking Woods Road, which becomes Forest Service Road 2850, off U.S. Highway 101 east of Sequim.
Chorale auditions scheduled
PORT ANGELES — The NorthWest Women’s Chorale will resume rehearsals Monday, Aug. 18, for its annual winter concert and is holding auditions for all parts — first and second soprano, and first and second alto.

Service set Sunday with reverend
PORT ANGELES — Unity in the Olympics, 2917 E. Myrtle St., will hold a 10:30 a.m. service Sunday with Rev. Ann Thomas.
The lesson will be “How Many Bags Are You Taking?”
Thomas retired after 22 years as minister of Lynnwood Unity Church.
Free child care is available during the service.
A time for silent meditation will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
All are welcome.
Free organ concert
SEQUIM — Faith Lutheran Church, 382 W. Cedar St., will celebrate “50 years of faith” with a free organ concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, and an ice-cream social from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16.
John Meier, guest organist, is also the son of church members Gary and Maureen Meier.
He is associate director of music at the Church of St. John the Divine (Episcopal) in Houston.
Meier has a Master of Music in organ from Rice University and served as organist of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Port Angeles while in high school.
The Aug. 16 ice-cream social, including a children’s museum with activities, will be free and open to the public.
Church members will offer tours and provide information on church history.
Club seeks members
PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Lions Club is seeking members.
Anyone interested in helping to make the community better and who wants to make a difference is invited to join.
The group meets every Thursday for a noontime lunch and the first and third Monday evenings of the month.
