“Our spiritual teachings make a bold promise. We are assured that the still small voice of the divine is always available to guide and direct us,” a news release stated.

“But how many times have we asked: God, how do I know it’s You? How do I know whether this idea is a divine idea or a pie-in-the sky idea? How do I know if this decision is the right decision? How do I know if this direction is the right direction?”

Free child care is available during the service.

A time for silent meditation will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

All are welcome.

Church celebrates

SEQUIM — Sequim Bible Church will mark 50 years of ministry Sunday.

All living former and current pastors are hoped to be present at the church at 847 Sequim Ave., Pastor Dave Wiitala said.

Ron Eggart will speak at the 9:30 a.m. service, while Jack Teachout will speak at the 10 a.m. service.

Dale Swanson and possibly Rick Finister will be present also.

A barbecue is planned after the service.

Thirteen people met in the summer of 1964 to discuss the new ministry, and the first church service was Nov. 1 that year at the American Legion Hall in Sequim. Forty people attended, Wiitala said.

A large brick house on the south side of Sequim was purchased that December.

In April 1965, Sequim Bible Church was legally incorporated.

The present property was obtained in 1969, and the first services held there Oct. 3, 1971, Wiitala said.
