New library vehicle

The North Olympic Library System [NOLS] announced the addition of a new vehicle to its “NOLS-on-the-Move” fleet.

The 2017 Toyota Prius was funded in part by an $18,000 donation from the Seattle Foundations’s Benjamin N. Phillips Memorial Fund, which was received in September 2016.

The fuel-efficient wagon, dubbed “Westy” by library staff, will do much to further NOLS’s ability to deliver when-and-where-it-is-needed library service to remote West End communities, NOLS said in a news release.

School visits, deliveries to homebound library patrons and community event attendance are on tap for Westy.

“Having a vehicle available to the Forks and Clallam Bay branch libraries presents exciting opportunities to boldly deliver services beyond the four walls of the libraries,” said West End Library manager Theresa Tetreau.

For more information, call the Forks Library at 360-374-6402 or Clallam Bay Library at 360-963-2414, visit www.nols.org or email discover@nols.org.
