NEWS BRIEFS: Drink, Draw is Thursday in Port Angeles; Mycological Society to meet Wednesday

PORT ANGELES — Drink and Draw, a free event for all ages, is planned at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. at the Loom in Studio Bob, upstairs at 118½ E. Front St.

A model will pose for three 20-minute sessions. Beer, wine and soft drinks are available for purchase.

Drawing supplies are available or bring your own.

Drink and draw meets monthly on the Thursday just before Port Angeles Art Walk on the second weekend of the month.

Mycological meet

SEQUIM — The public is invited to Olympic Peninsula Mycological Society’s meeting from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

During the meeting, Lee Whitford will present “What to Look for When You Look at Mushrooms” at Gardiner Commnity Center, 980 Old Gardiner Road.

Her presentation will last for a half-hour and will include a Q-and-A session.

A potluck and social hour will follow.

Whitford was one of the founding members of Northwest Mushroomers Association in Bellingham in 1989 and is the current president of the Pacific Northwest Key Council.
