PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office has issued a neighborhood watch alert after a man was reported as suspicious in the 300 block of Old Olympic Highway.
Around 8 a.m. Thursday, a woman reported a white, bald man came to her back door and asked to use her phone. She told him she was getting the phone but was using it to call the police. The man left in a silver or light-colored Honda with a woman in the passenger seat.
Earlier, the woman’s husband drove past the same car parked at the closed Speedi Mart Grocery, located at 320 Old Olympic Highway, with the man and woman inside. The husband told a deputy he has often seen the car parked there.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in alerting dispatchers at 360-417-2459 to suspicious behavior in this area.
