Nash’s Farm Store in Sequim celebrates first anniversary on Friday

SEQUIM — A reception celebrating the first anniversary of Nash’s Farm Store will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

The free event will include a reading by poet, author and Peninsula Daily News columnist Mary Lou Sanelli, the unveiling of the new Donors Mural painted by Lynette Brown, the chance to meet some of the young farmers who grow the produce for the store and free samples.

Nash’s Farm Store is located at 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way.

Film on Tuesday

In addition, a film, “Bitter Seeds,” will be screened at Nash’s Farm Store at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Admission is free.

The film deals with the dissemination of Monsanto’s genetically engineered seed in India.

Members of Sequim’s Genetically Modified Organism Awareness Group will introduce the film and afterward lead a discussion about it.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a snack for the potluck snack table. Coffee and tea will be provided.
