PORT ANGELES — A 15-year-old Sequim girl who had been missing since Sunday was found safe at about 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Elizabeth Morse, who was last seen at the Clallam County Fairgrounds at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, was found on a bus, said her mother, Shawna Ervin, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Ron Cameron, Clallam County chief criminal deputy, confirmed Wednesday that she had been picked up by a deputy.
“With runaways, it’s tough,” Cameron said.
“If the kids don’t want to be found, it’s hard.
“But we put the word out on the street pretty good.”
Morse had disappeared after telling her friends she was going to be picked up by an aunt.
She does not have an aunt in the area who would have picked her up, Ervin said.
Morse had contacted friends but had not returned home or contacted family members, her mother said earlier Tuesday.
