PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man who pleaded guilty to slashing tires on one car Thursday is not considered to be linked to a recent spree of slashed tires, police say.
Port Angeles Deputy Police Chief Brian Smith said police are investigating several people of interest in regard to slashing of tires on 30 vehicles that occurred mostly on the nights of April 8 and April 9.
Troy M. Bird, 23, received a $1,000 fine and a sentence of five days in jail in Clallam County Superior Court for slashing two tires on a car in the 2300 block of West 18th St. at about 2:50 a.m. Thursday.
Smith said he is not linked to the multiple tire slashings earlier in the month.
The motive was a personal dispute with the owner of the car, while the spree from last week was a series of random acts, Smith said.
