PORT ANGELES — A 40-year old Port Angeles man is in jail for investigation of first-degree assault after a stabbing in unincorporated territory west of the city this morning.
Clallam County sheriff’s detectives arrested Leon James Whitley, 40, after the incident on Durwachter Road, about five miles west of Port Angeles.
The sheriff’s office said the victim, an associate of Whitley’s, had two stab wounds to the back, one to the chest and one to the leg.
A seven-inch knife and other bloodied evidence were found in Whitley’s van, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
The victim’s condition is unknown.
