PORT ANGELES — Limits on impervious surface areas for new development will be discussed at a special planning meeting on Thursday.
The Port Angeles Planning Commission special meeting — which will begin at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 321 Fifth St. — will include a public hearing, with comment taken.
Impervious surfaces include rooftops, sidewalks, roads and parking lots — anything covered by a material such as asphalt, concrete, brick or stone that seals surfaces and repels water.
The regulations would place limits on the amount of impervious surfaces a property can have, so as to reduce the amount of storm water runoff that enters the city’s sewer system.
Written comments about the proposed limits must be taken to the Port Angeles Department of Community and Economic Development at City Hall no later than Wednesday to be included in the staff report at the meeting.
