Legislative listening session for young voters set for Saturday

PORT ANGELES — Young voters and soon-to-be voters ages 16-29 are invited to speak with local legislators at a listening session hosted by the North Olympic Library System in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Clallam County.

The Legislative Listening Session is set for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

Rep. Mike Chapman, D-Port Angeles, and Rep. Steve Tharinger, D-Port Townsend, will be in attendance from the 24th Legislative District.

Adam Bernbaum of Sen. Kevin Van de Wege’s office from the 24th Legislative District will attend on behalf of the senator, a Democrat from Port Angeles.

Each will provide a brief introduction to his work, including special projects of interest and recently sponsored bills.

After introductions, the audience will divide into smaller groups based on topics of interest expressed by attendees. Participants will have the opportunity to express concerns and share experiences directly with Chapman, Tharinger and Bernbaum.
